Night, Autumn Cold...

Blue Tranquility
05:20
|
|||
Rain, petrichor
Dark, sylvan floor
Old sycamore
Hail, elder lore
Lake, forever still
Mist, an airy chill
Climb, atop the hill
Lunar windowsill
A quiet beauty
For a moment I am myself
In a gentle breeze
Safe, within the trees
Blue tranquility
Night, autumn cold
Stars, hundredfold
Pale marigold
Fantasies unfold
Fog, ethereal haze
Of forgotten days
Sit by lapping waves
Soft, hypnotic phrase
A quiet beauty
An ancient spell
When darkness finds me
Here I come to free my mind
Release the pain of time
If only momentary
This blue tranquility

Conqueror of Fear
04:45
|
|||
Moonlight anoints the sky
Stars, shining passerby
Majesty of vision high
By its will I am alive
Old troubles lay them here
In watery mirror disappear
Heart humble, sincere
Conqueror of fear
I was for long alone
In frozen, cavern cold
Where shadows
Dance before the wicked
'Til true light
Did break inside
And return my heart to life
To honor beauty of creation
Conqueror of fear

And Time Goes On
05:16
|
|||
And time goes on
Mist hangs o'er river frozen
The flowers gone
The garden overgrown and
The air is wrong
Old rot on a carrion wind and
This night is long
Black birds call by the riverside
In pain, cry out for an ending
A refrain from necessary suffering
Shamefully cowardly and vain
To rebuke that old teacher, arcane
And hide behind a comfort, mundane
Run at the first sight of blood
A soul that festers, a body that rots
Will be undone
Man
Taken by whim
For ease, faineance
Tends not to himself
Will be undone
Garden
Lost to the will
Of growth and decay
While worshipping weeds
Will be undone
River
Fed by a sea
Of greed and despair
Will swell and break
Will be undone
Buzzards
Fly overhead
Bear witness to all
Their cup overruns
And time goes on

The Ninth Wave
09:21
|
|||
So this must be the hour
Our struggle with fate, it nears an end
Salvation is not within our power
So let these our lamentations end
The beauty of an ocean sunrise
Honor it I will at last
For few have been my tributes to creation
And heavy grows our saving mast
Curse not my sailing brothers
The perils of the sea we knew them well
We've lived a life like no other
These seventeen years upon the swell
For our friends the tempest cruelly swept
Deep within the churn at night
But grace us from that blackness kept
To show us a final light
The waves are growing taller
And I fear help has come too late
Neptune shakes and spits the brine around us
He makes for us a brackish fate
Well my friends, it's been an honor
Let each man steel himself, for home be brave
For distant light has shown we're not alone
Here before the ninth wave
